We have seen many attempts to copy supercars over the years.
Some people made a Lamborghini Aventador that was actually a Pontiac GTO in disguise. Another person built his own Ford GT40 from scratch.
They all deserve some praise.
But none of them are as close to the real thing as this Pagani Huayra that was made from nothing.
The challenge of building a replica supercar
It is not easy to build a replica supercar.
Supercars have many parts and, of course, an engine, which is very hard to copy.
But these men in Vietnam did not give up.
They built a very realistic Pagani Huayra from nothing, in a year and a half. And they recorded the whole process in a this video.
The video is 47 minutes long, but it is worth watching. They made a replica supercar using only their brains and a small model of a Pagani Huayra.

The starting point of their project
They started with an old Daewoo Espero (a four-door, medium-sized Korean car from the 90s), which they bought for only $500.
They took out its engine, and then they built a frame from scratch.
They also made the suspension and the steering system by themselves.
We don’t know what engine they used, but the Espero had different gasoline engines (1.5L, 1.8L and 2.0L), and they were made by General Motors. So the replica Pagani has a GM engine.
The impressive result of their work
The replica Pagani is not perfect, but it looks very similar to the real one. It might even trick some experts from far away.
They got many details right, like the moving parts that help the car go faster and how they made everything open and close properly, like the doors that go up, the front and the back.
But they could not copy everything, like the wheels and the tires that are too small, and the mirrors that are too big.
It was a hard task, but the shape of the car is not as smooth as it should be, the gaps between the parts are too big, and the back of the car is not exactly right.
The inside of the car
The inside of the car looks a bit like the real Pagani Huayra, but the materials are not as good, the quality is not as high, and the instruments are very simple.
But we can still admire their effort, and that is what we can see in the video below.

This is an amazing story of how a group of Vietnamese men created a Pagani Huayra from nothing.
They spent a year and a half building a homemade supercar, using only their wits and a scale model.
